Vern Rickman
Vern Rickman was born in Wonthaggi — his parents came over from Germany in the early fifties and his father worked in the local mines. He and wife Debi returned to settle in Wonthaggi fifteen years ago with their two children Teyghan and Bianca who are both actively involved in the family business.
Vern has many philosophies to which he holds dear in life not least of which is ‘The Good You Do Today Will Reward You Ten Fold Tomorrow.’
Self-employed since he was fifteen, Vern’s success in insurance and telecommunications as CEO of United Electrical Engineering Pty Ltd, has now allowed him to follow his dream and make Archies on the Creek a reality. The dream was conceived four years ago enjoying a glass of wine with close friends when it was decided to create a café / wine bar with intentions to hold regular farmers markets on the site.
This simple dream has evolved on a grand scale with the emphasis on great food and wine and the people we enjoy it with. Vern’s love of fine food and wine in essence has built the bricks and mortar of what is now
